Jesse Ventura
Bobblehead Doll Info

Four editions of Jesse Ventura
bobblehead dolls were manufactured in limited quantities by Alexander
Global Promotions between October, 2001 and July, 2002. Each is a
high-quality, hand-painted, ceramic piece, 1.25 lbs, 7.5" high. The edition
number is shown on back of each doll's base.
Compared to others in
the marketplace, Jesse Ventura bobblehead dolls are rare. Edition quantities were
limited to 1,500 or 3,000. This compares to runs of 10,000+
commonly seen in other celebrity bobbleheads.
The first edition was sold entirely to
individuals in small quantities. The second edition was sold mostly to
individuals in small quantities. When the Jesse Ventura Volunteer
Committee (JVVC) discovered how hot a fundraising product the Jesse
Ventura bobblehead doll could be, it produced third and fourth
editions in preparation for a possible re-election campaign. When the
governor announced he would not seek re-election, the inventory
was
sold in case lots to a number of buyers and the JVVC was closed. The
case-lot buyers have been selling
their dolls at eBay, community events, flea markets,
etc. It's only a matter of time before the case lots are gone. These
dolls will become increasingly rare as they are lost, broken, thrown away,
or carefully stored as a valued collectible by those who buy or receive them as gifts.
The rarity premium can already been seen in the
marketplace. The JV01-2001 edition sells at higher
prices than the other editions. This is because it was the first-ever
Jesse Ventura bobblehead doll made, and because no one owns more than a
few. The entire edition was sold in just two days. No buyer was
permitted to purchase more than 10. Less than a dozen buyers bought the
limit. Nearly everyone else bought quantities of just 1, 2, or 3. While
other editions can still be found, the JV01-2001 is hard to locate and
more costly to buy.
Another positive factor for Jesse Ventura collectibles
is Jesse Ventura's upcoming national TV talk show. The show is now in the
works at MSNBC. When the popular and provocative Jesse Ventura goes on
the air nationwide, interest in Jesse Ventura collectibles will likely increase. |
